Zuoying Free Walking Tour

The old walled city, the Lotus Pond, and the stories behind them

2 hrs · 09:0011:00Up to 12 peopleZuoying

We start at the Lotus Pond in the cool of the morning, when the pagodas are still quiet and the temple courtyards belong to the neighbourhood rather than to the tour buses.

You will hear why a dragon and a tiger guard the same pagoda, what the Qing empire was so worried about that it built a wall around this town, and how a village of salt fields and fish ponds ended up next to one of the busiest container ports in the world. We walk slowly, we stop for photos, and we answer everything you have been wondering about Taiwan since you landed.

This is a real free walking tour. There is no charge and no obligation. If you had a good time, tip whatever you think it was worth at the end.
